Reincarnative royalty

I feel like we’re reincarnative royalty in exile. I’m being self-piteous and bratty about being relegated for the beginning of this life and won’t ascend again until I learn to have compassion when triumphant.

Alcohol and ghosts

Alcohol = fermented = death. Alcohol depresses nervous system = generalised death of spirit/cells/cell activity. Feelings include melancholy and nostalgia. Some alcohol is called “spirits”. Do I see some gateway to communication with the dead through alcohol?

Insight from John Lennon

It’s insane that we can walk along a train platform without touching and acknowledging every person we pass. This is not the Earth animal way - has not been our way till recently. Hence the uncomfortable glances, down-stares, etc.

Specialisation and socialism

I look at my mini-disc player and wonder at the levels and directions of specialisation of labour and imagination that went into its development and the fact that it’s cheaply available en masse. Adam Smith’s specialisation insights have been used as justification for laissez-faire economics. I realise the need for specialisation, at least the need we had. This need erupted spontaneously within controlled economies and must have been a contributing force for their destruction. The USSR had levels of specialisation like the US - impossible to reconcile with Marxism.
